DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that Judy Garland's parents were married in Superior? Frank Gumm and Ethel Milne met while performing at local theaters. Miss Milne played the piano and Mr. Gumm was a vocalist. At the time they were married, she was the musical director at the Lyric Theatre (1125 Tower Avenue) and he was singing at the Parlor Theatre (1116 Tower Avenue). They were married on January 22, 1914 in the home of Miss Milne's parents at 1824 Banks Avenue by the Rev. James Crawford of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. After they returned from their honeymoon, they stayed in Superior for a short time before moving to Grand Rapids, MN.
My task here is simple. Find a way back to the comforting person I used to be instead of this nose breaking SOB I have become. Never the less Robert Heinlin gives us this wisdom: "Ignorance is it's own death sentence".
